About the Role
5 min readThe Junior MEP Engineer will support the planning, coordination, supervision, and execution of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection works under the guidance of senior engineers and project management.
The successful candidate will assist in design review, site coordination, quantity verification, material inspection, progress monitoring, quality control, technical documentation, and project reporting to ensure that MEP works are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and construction schedules.
This position requires individuals who are technically curious, eager to learn, adaptable, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, demanding construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection installation works.
- Review engineering drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Participate in MEP coordination with Civil, Structural, and Architectural disciplines.
- Assist in resolving technical issues encountered during construction.
- Support testing, commissioning, and inspection activities.
- Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Design Review & Coordination
- Assist in reviewing MEP design drawings for constructability and coordination.
- Identify clashes and inconsistencies between different engineering disciplines.
- Support design modifications and technical coordination with consultants and project engineers.
- Develop a strong understanding of integrated MEP systems and engineering design principles.
- Project Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor daily work progress and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Assist in quantity take-offs, material verification, and work measurement.
- Prepare technical reports and maintain project documentation.
- Support project planning and scheduling activities.
- Quality & Safety
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure work complies with quality standards.
- Report quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.
- Promote safe working practices throughout project execution.
- Material & Resource Management
- Monitor material deliveries and installation progress.
- Verify material quantities against approved drawings and specifications.
- Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
- Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams regarding project material requirements.

- Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
- Participate in technical discussions, toolbox meetings, and engineering coordination sessions.
- Learn company procedures, construction methodologies, and international engineering standards.
- Perform additional engineering assignments as directed by senior management.
